One of many statement watches in Rolex’s Professional Series, the Milgauss was specifically created for the scientific community. The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Milgauss, ref. 6451 debuted in 1956, and was designed to withstand magnetic fields that disrupted regular timepieces. Tested by the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), it was found the watch resisted magnetic fields up to 1,000 gauss thanks to ferromagnetic alloy components. Celebrated by Rolex as a watch for those “with a passion for science and discovery,” the 40mm Milgauss comes in black, white and Z-blue dial options. Our new and pre-owned Rolex GMT’s are assets that only appreciate in value over time, but unlike a stock or bond can be worn and enjoyed on a daily basis.
